Ever since its establishment in 1918 the ECCB has been participating in the ecumenical movement and became the member of many bodies: on the national level it is the Ecumenical Council of Churches and Czech Synod of Leuenberg Churches. On the international level, our church belongs to following bodies: World Council of Churches, World Communion of Reformed Churches, The Lutheran World Federation, Community of Protestant Churches in Europe and Conference of European Churches. We cooperate with the Aid organization of the Protestant Churches of Switzerland (HEKS) and aid organization of the Protestant churches in Germany – the Gustav-Adolf-Werk (GAW).

Furthermore, the ECCB maintains good relations with many churches all around the world. This applies mainly to Reformed, Lutheran, United and Presbyterian churches in Europe, USA and South Korea. In addition, we maintain close relations with Protestant congregations in Eastern Europe, which were founded by the Czech exiles. The ecumenical activities occur also on the level of particular congregations and parishes they for example organize ecumenical services or cooperate with fellow congregations abroad.

For our followers abroad we also publish the Ecumenical Bulletin in English and German language.
